Carlos Santana's Electric Guitar

Mexican American guitarist Carlos Santana or Carlos Augusto Selva Santana born on July 20, 1947. Santana famous with his band, Santana, which pioneered rock, salsa and jazz fusion in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The band's sound featured his melodic, blues-based guitar lines set against Latin and African rhythms featuring percussion instruments such as timbales and congas not generally heard in rock music.

Santana's main electric guitar was a Yamaha SG 175B and sometimes a Gibson SG Custom from 1976 until 1982. In 1982 Carlos Santana started to use a custom made Paul Reed Smith guitar, which became his main instrument around 1988 till now. Carlos Santana Signature Guitars from Paul Reed Smith (PRS) are Santana SE One Abraxas, Santana I, Santana II, and Santana MD Signature Model.
